PEP GUARDIOLA PREVIEW
On our final game at Goodison Park:
“Goodison Park is so special, like old traditional stadiums in England from the past.
“Go to Fulham, Villa Park. You feel the special atmosphere.
“The clubs grow and I’m pretty sure the new stadium will be nicer in terms of being more comfortable. It’s a nice place to go, difficult one of course but nice.”
On the job David Moyes is doing:
“The results speak for themselves.
“Dyche does an incredible job as well. Sean took over in a difficult position in relegation but the impact from David and his experience, he does an incredible job as well.
“Whole career he’s got incredible results. Difficult to handle it and it’s an important week for us.”
PREVIOUS MEETING
Despite having most of the possession against a resilient Everton side, we were held to a 1-1 draw in our last encounter at the Etihad.
City broke the deadlock on 14 minutes when Bernardo Silva managed to find the back of the net from a tight angle, but Iliman Ndiaye then levelled for the Toffees before half-time with a stunning strike which beat Ortega Moreno.
There were a flurry of late chances for City to get the winner, but were forced to settle for a draw.
LAST TIME OUT
City produced a stunning comeback last time out against Crystal Palace, and fought back to secure a 5-2 victory despite being 2-0 down.
Eberechi Eze and Chris Richards put the Eagles ahead with a tap in and a header from a corner, but a deflected free-kick from Kevin De Bruyne and a drilled close range shot from Omar Marmoush pulled City level before half-time.
It took two minutes for Mateo Kovacic to sweep home to put us ahead, before two of our academy starlets put us further ahead.
James McAtee scored on his first Premier League start after he rounded Dean Henderson in the Palace goal and Nico O’Reilly half volleyed a shot into the next to round off the scoring as we picked up an important three points in the Champions League qualification race.
