The six-part series charts our journey from pre-season all the way to securing the Premier League title, FA Cup and finally the Champions League triumph in Istanbul to complete a historic season.
All episodes are available to watch now and give a fascinating insight into the hard work, dedication and camaraderie in our record-breaking squad.
Here we take a look at the five things we learned from the series and some of the less typical ingredients you might associate with success...
SINGING THE BLUES
Early in the series, Rodrigo describes the City squad as like a second family and, as the old saying goes: “A family that plays together, stays together”.
Certainly the documentary illustrates that the bonds within the squad are strong, helped by a shared trust, belief and sense of humour.
As at many clubs, an inhiation is for new signings to sing a solo in front of their team-mates and the same thing happens on our pre-season tour to the United States with mixed results.
Erling Haaland insists he gave the best performance, with his version of Enrique Inglesias’s Hero while Kalvin Phillips says he has the best voice following his rendition of Budapest by George Ezra.
But while they fight over who was the best, there’s no doubting who is the greatest singer to appear in the series with Pep Guardiola and the squad starstruck when they bump into Sir Elton John at the airport on their return to Manchester Airport.
He may be a huge Watford fan, but the superstar has some encouraging words for the Blues in our Treble bid.
Of course, the fans have the best songs with a reworked version of Fleetwood Mac’s Everywhere becoming one of the anthems for our journey to Istanbul.
And as the season goes on, it’s Gala’s Freed From Desire that gets remixed for Ilkay ‘Gundo’ Gundogan and then for Rodri after his historic strike.
A COMPETITIVE EDGE
Sportspeople are made differently to mere mortals, with competitiveness in all environments, not just on the pitch.
A table tennis match between Riyad Mahrez and Rodrigo ahead of the Champions League clash with Borussia Dortmund in Germany shows the desire to be the best.
Captain Gundogan shows his strength in an impromptu wrestling match with Carson while there’s even a battle for who is most stylishly dressed.
But it’s with a football where we see the real competitiveness come to life with that desire to win everything.
In the first episode, we get to see the rondos – a staple training drill that has helped developed our passing style.
But for such a simple game, there’s plenty of arguments and an obsession to try to reach perfection.
Later in the series, Mahrez and Jack Grealish also have a regular battle on the pitch to test their touch and control, staying after training for a unique game.
In the dressing room, we get to see the winning mentality before and after the game.
However, there are others that are able to take a more relaxed approach with Kevin De Bruyne glued to Candy Crush on his phone before big matches.
ONE MAN AND HIS DOG
Taking a break from the game is important for relaxation and who better to do that with someone who doesn’t know you’re a superstar.
“She doesn’t know her dad’s Jack Grealish,” says Sasha Attwood of their Cockapoo Skye.
Amid the pressure of challenging for three trophies, the England international says he loves coming home to his dog which won’t offer any judgment of his match performance.
“I love having there as someone to come home to, even after a match. Even if you’ve played bad or played good or whatever, she’s just there, she doesn’t care,” he says.
Skye also enjoys the wide open spaces of the CFA, although Jack has to be careful of anything she might leave behind on the pitches where the first team train.
Meanwhile, Bernardo Silva’s dog John, named after Stones, was already a canine celebrity from the last series of Together.
And John gets a new best friend with the Portuguese midfielder contemplating potential names from the current squad for the new arrival.
MEN FOR ALL SEASONS
Manchester’s weather is almost like an extra character in the series, with the first team tested by the rain and gloom to get ready for matches.
Summer signing Manuel Akanji quickly learns a lesson from homegrown Phil Foden after joining the Club. “The thing is, when you look outside it looks nice with the blue sky,” he says.
“No bro, but it’s not! Winter is coming,” is Phil’s reply.
Hailstones, snow and storms are the most familiar weather settings although there is the occasional opportunity to feel the sun, mostly abroad.
Bernardo Silva uses the sprinklers to cool off in the heat of Houston on our pre-season tour to the US while Scott Carson takes a dip in an ice bath.
While many of the squad headed to the 2022 World Cup, those left behind at least had the opportunity to enjoy the wonderful weather in Abu Dhabi for warm winter training.
Supporters put away their big coats finally for the last games of the season, including a beautiful day in Istanbul before a beautiful performance.
But the parade celebrations are back in the wonderful Manchester rain!
THIS MEANS EVERYTHING
From the celebrations after every victory to the tears at finally lifting the trophies, the desire and hunger for success is apparent in everything we do.
Pep Guardiola constantly praises his players for their ability to keep pushing themselves and our collection of silverware in recent years and three successive titles in the grind of the Premier League is proof of that.
But even he is left surprised sometimes, such as in our dramatic late win against Fulham after Joao Cancelo is sent off early in the game.
Together gives an incredible perspective of just what it means to the players, staff and supporters to be rewarded for their hard work and dedication and how the spirit brining success.
Despite there being only one goalkeeper spot available each game, in episode four we get to see to the friendship and support that Ederson, Stefan Ortega Moreno and Scott Carson give to each other.
That togetherness runs right through the squad, all the way to the strikers with Haaland missing the Liverpool match through injury but visiting the dressing room before kick-off to give encouragement before nervously watching from the stand.
Meanwhile, Julian Alvarez walked back into the CFA in December as a world champion following his huge impact helping Argentina to their 2022 triumph.
The striker was given a warm welcome on his return to the first team building and onto the training pitch, as well as by the Etihad crowd on his first game back.
The fans are a huge part of our journey and it’s an opportunity to be immersed back into the incredible Etihad atmosphere for unforgettable games such as Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Chelsea.
