The Manchester City midfielder has retained the annual prize following another campaign in which he has once again proven himself to be one of the most talented youngsters in the country.
With nine goals and five assists to his name, Foden has matched his tally from 2020/21 and his fine form was enough to fend off the competition of England colleagues Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mason Mount, Aaron Ramsdale, Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka and the Crystal Palace duo Conor Gallagher and Tyrick Mitchell in the fan vote.
“I am very proud to have won this award for a second season in a row,” Foden said.
“There are so many talented young players in the Premier League this season and it is a real honour to win it again.
City trio up for PFA Vertu Motors Fans’ Player of the Year
“I have been really happy with my performances this season and it has been great to contribute to this team in what will hopefully be another successful year for us all.
“To be nominated alongside so many great players is an honour as they have all had great seasons for their clubs.
“I would like to thank everyone who has contributed to my development this season.”
Having played a starring role in last season’s league triumph, Foden has been equally instrumental in City’s bid to land back-to-back titles in 2021/22.
His influence has continued to grow and his versatility has proved invaluable as he has excelled whether deployed on either flank, as a false nine or in midfield.
The Academy graduate, whose playmaking skills have been complemented by his tireless work rate has made vital contributions throughout the season, scoring crucial winners against Brentford and Everton, whilst he was also on target in October’s draw with Liverpool at Anfield.
Everyone at Manchester City congratulates Phil on a brilliant season and another well-deserved accolade.
