Gianluigi Donnarumma feels he’s currently at the pinnacle of his incredible career playing for Manchester City in the Premier League.

The Italy international joined the Club last September from European champions Paris Saint-Germain and picked up two of the most prestigious individual goalkeeper awards in world football before the end of 2025: the Yashin Trophy and FIFA Best Goalkeeper Award.

He’s already adapted well to English football, with eight clean sheets in just 17 Premier League appearances meaning he’s in the thick of the race for the Golden Glove award this season.

Despite all his success at Club and international level so far, Donnarumma feels the demands of being at City and competing in the Premier League have taken him to another level.

“It’s the best league in the world,” the 26-year-old said of the Premier League, speaking ahead of our clash with Brighton this evening.

“When you watch from the outside the games are just fantastic, it’s beautiful to watch and to play in it – even more beautiful.

“Being here, being at City, being in the Premier League – I’m at the top at this moment in my career.”

Speaking about his smooth transition to City, Donnarumma says a big factor is the tight-knit atmosphere at the Club both on and off the pitch.

He admits that hearing positive assessments of the Blues helped him decide on the move to City, and that he’s been loving life at the Etihad Stadium ever since.

He adds: “I wanted to come here because everyone spoke well of Manchester City and the truth is that I’ve found a great family and I am very, very happy to be here.

“There’s a real family environment and I’m really happy. I felt a strong interest, and it flattered me.

“To be wanted so much by City and by a top coach like Pep Guardiola is just a source of pride.

“I am really happy and proud to be part of the City group and this big family.”
