Jack Grealish says his desire to win trophies with City is stronger than ever.

Since joining us three years ago, Grealish has collected seven major honours – three Premier Leagues as well as the Champions League, Super Cup, Club World Cup and FA Cup.

The 29-year-old was part of the squad that won an unforgettable Treble in 2022/23 and ensured a record-breaking four titles in a row in 2023/24.

As we resume action in the top-flight this weekend against Wolves following the October international break, our stylish midfielder has reiterated his drive and determination to add more prizes to the sky blue cabinet.

“When you win as much as we do, it is all you want to keep doing,” he said.

“That feeling of lifting trophies never goes away and winning stuff with each other.

“Personally, it is one of the best feelings in football when you win trophies with your teammates after a long and hard season.

“It is something that doesn’t go away and hopefully we can do it again this year.”

Pep Guardiola’s men are eyeing an astonishing fifth Premier League in a row this term as well as targeting the Champions League, the FA Cup and the League Cup as the season progresses.

Arsenal are bound to again provide stiff competition in the title race after finishing runners-up in the last two seasons while serial rivals Liverpool have made a strong start to the current campaign along with Chelsea – led by former City assistant Enzo Maresca – and Aston Villa, thriving under Unai Emery.

Grealish is aware of the challenge ahead but is optimistic about our chances of once again emerging as champions.

“It is always going to be difficult,” he continued.

“This season in the Premier League you look at all the teams and anyone can beat anyone. No matter if you are at home or away, every game that we have had this season has been tough.

“You look at the top at the moment, there’s obviously us, Arsenal and Liverpool up there, but I think there are great teams around.

“You only have to look at the likes of Chelsea who have been really good as well this season.

“We know it will be difficult, but hopefully we will be able to lift the trophy again come the end of the season.

“Us as a team, we always have confidence in ourselves. But as it comes to the end of the season, the most important part, that is when we always come to life and certainly every season I have been here that seems to have happened.

“In April and May we have done really well, especially last year, winning so many games in a row which helped us lift the trophy.”

The next step this season for City is a visit to the Black Country and Molineux, the site of a rare defeat last time out, our first of the ultimately-successful 2023/24 campaign.

The home side took the lead early in the first half when the luckless Ruben Dias deflected the ball into his own net after a lightning break from Pedro Neto.

Julian Alvarez equalised with a stunning free-kick just before the hour mark, but we were level for just eight minutes as Hwang Hee-chan smashed in the winner for Wolves.

Gary O’Neil’s side have struggled so far this term as they lie second-from-bottom with one point after a draw and six defeats from seven games.

But Grealish certainly won’t be taking the Midlanders lightly.

“It’s obviously going to be difficult,” he added.

“In the Premier League nowadays you don’t have any easy games.

“I know Wolves probably don’t look like they’re doing as good as they can on the table, but we know that Wolves away is always a really tough game and we have struggled there at times in the past.

“We know it is going to be a difficult game and then it is straight back into the Champions League games which is always difficult.

“It is something that we are looking forward to, but we just take it each game as it comes at the moment.”

Driving City on from the touchline this weekend as always will be boss Guardiola, who is overseeing the greatest period in the Club’s illustrious history.

As we eye three points to re-start the season in strong style, Grealish is unequivocal on the importance of the manager and his impact on the squad.

“I think the way he sees football is different to everyone else,” the playmaker added.

“It is something you can’t buy, it is something that is worth years of experience and he sees football completely different to the way anyone does. It’s so unique and so good.

“He is a brilliant manager and a pleasure to play for.”
