The Manchester City defender is part of Gareth Southgate’s 26-man squad, which also includes Phil Foden, Raheem Sterling and Kyle Walker.

Stones has not played for England since the 7-0 win over Montenegro in November 2019 and was left out of the previous three international camps, but has earned a recall following his brilliant form this season.
The 26-year-old has been a standout performer in a City side which boasts the best defensive record in the Premier League, whilst no defender has scored more goals in the competition than Stones, who has netted four times in his last 10 league appearances.
Southgate’s first squad of 2021 sees Foden, Sterling and Walker all retained from the previous round of international fixtures in November of last year.
The City Academy graduate scored twice as the Three Lions beat Iceland 4-0 in their last outing, whilst Sterling needs just two appearances to reach the 60-cap mark.
England kick-off their qualifying campaign for next summer’s World Cup in Qatar with three games in seven days, beginning against San Marino on Thursday 25 March at Wembley Stadium.
They travel to Albania three days later, before returning to Wembley to face Poland on Wednesday 31 March.
