The best images from Kalvin Phillips’ career to date…

After making his debut for Leeds United in 2015, the 26-year-old has gone on to establish himself as one of the Premier League and England’s most effective deep-lying midfielders.

Named in the Championship Team of the Season in both 2018/19 and 2019/20, Phillips was integral in helping his boyhood club return to the top flight in the latter of those two campaigns.

A first senior international cap followed in September 2020, when Phillips became only the third player in in the 21st century alongside Jack Butland and Wilfried Zaha to turn out for England before making their Premier League debut.

And after a hugely successful first season in the top flight with Leeds, the midfielder would go on to become a key figure for Gareth Southgate’s side at last summer’s European Championships.

After putting in a man-of-the-match display in the Three Lions’ tournament opener against Croatia, our new number four would start each of England’s matches en route to a first major international final since 1966.

A further season at Leeds would follow, with Phillips returning from a hamstring injury in time to help steer Jesse Marsch’s side to safety on the final day.
