Ederson and Gabriel Jesus both start for Manchester City at Leicester City, where Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden have returned from injury to take their place amongst the substitutes.

The Brazilian duo are free to play after their national FA withdrew a complaint to FIFA that would have seen them suspended for five days for not making themselves available in the September international break.

Pep Guardiola has again named an unchanged side as he fields the same XI that started in the back-to-back victories over Norwich City and Arsenal, with Jack Grealish set to make his 100th Premier League appearance.

City’s bench is bolstered by the inclusion of De Bruyne and Foden, with the Belgian returning after a two-game absence, whilst Foden is involved for the first time this season having recovered from the foot injury which has kept him out since the EURO 2020 semi-final.

TEAMS

CITY: Ederson, Walker, Dias, Laporte, Cancelo, Rodrigo, Gundogan (C), Bernardo, Jesus, Grealish, Torres.

SUBS: Carson, Stones, Ake, Sterling, Zinchenko, De Bruyne, Mahrez, Foden.

LEICESTER: Schmeichel (C), Castagne, Vestergaard, Söyüncü, Bertrand, Albrighton, Tielemans, Ndidi, Barnes, Maddison, Vardy.

SUBS: Ward, Evans, Amartey, Ricardo, Soumaré, Dewsbury-Hall, Lookman, Daka, Iheanacho.

Formation

With City unchanged for the third game in a row, it looks as if we will line up in the same 4-3-3 system that worked to wonderful effect against Norwich and Arsenal.

Joao Cancelo will play left-back in a back four alongside Kyle Walker and centre-backs Ruben Dias and Aymeric Laporte.

Rodrigo will sit deepest in midfield behind captain Ilkay Gundogan and Bernardo Silva and the attacking trident should see Jesus resume his right-wing role, with Grealish on the opposite flank and Ferran Torres through the middle.
