“It’s a difficult place to come. We thank them so much [the fans] because they mean so much to us,” said Lewis after the game. “To get a result like this today is amazing, not just for us but for them as well.
“The main message was to keep on going and keep persisting, because we have to keep going and most of our games will be like this, where we control the game and the opposition sit deep.
“The chances will come. The message was to get in the box and that’s what I did today.
“As a kid you dream of scoring a goal and celebrating. This season I’ve played more in midfield so I want more goals and assists.
“Yeah of course, just like every other title race [every game is a must win]. We have to win every game and there are three teams in it, so we have to be the strongest team.
“This team has done it so many times, we have the experience and I’m sure we’ll kick on and do it again.”
The Academy graduate put in an assured display, inverting from right-back into central midfield, having 71 touches and completing 57 passes.

The 19-year-old is enjoying his chance to shine in the thick of the midfield but reiterated that he will operate wherever the manager sees fit.
“I enjoy playing in midfield the most,” he declared. “As a kid you want to get goals and assists, that’s what you see on TV.
“That’s what I want to be in the future, but the manager decides where I’m most effective.”
