“I know the quality they have and they know the quality we have.
“If we get this question with 10 games left, I would say Liverpool cannot catch Arsenal. But with the World Cup, anything can happen.
“In the last years we fought for all the titles and were close. We were a little bit better, especially in the Premier League. But nothing changes the opinion I have of them.
“A table never plays a team - the game will be dictated by what happens on the pitch, not that we are in front or behind [in table].
“[It’s] always difficult and has been in these years we arrive together. Tough game, we won’t discover anything else that’s special.”
PREVIOUS MEETING
Our last trip to Anfield in the Premier League was last October, where we twice came from behind to secure a 2-2 draw in what was an enthralling Premier League encounter.
After dominating the first half, City then found ourselves behind after the break through Sadio Mane’s 59th minute opener.
Man of the match Phil Foden then deservedly drew Pep Guardiola’s side level only for Mo Salah to strike again for the hosts with 14 minutes left.
However, a superb Kevin De Bruyne effort nine minutes from time ensured that the spoils were shared in what was a classic clash between the sides.
LAST TIME OUT
City brushed aside Southampton to move to the top of the Premier League for 24 hours.
The Blues hit four goals without reply with a classy, dominant performance at the Etihad.
As for Liverpool, they narrowly lost 3-2 to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in a pulsating clash.
Both sides had Champions League games in midweek, with City drawing 0-0 with FC Copenhagen and Liverpool taking on Glasgow Rangers.
FORM GUIDE
We remain the only undefeated side in the top-flight after nine matches, winning seven and drawing twice.
Jurgen Klopp’s side sit in tenth, with two wins, four draws and two losses in eight league encounters.
Former City strike legend Shaun Goater says anyone who loves football will be relishing our clash with Liverpool this weekend - and he’s especially excited to see Erling Haaland and Virgil van Dijk square off.
