City ended a run of four games without a win by recovering from a goal down at Kenilworth Road to take the three points thanks to second-half goals from Bernardo and Jack Grealish.
The Blues’ boss says he isn’t worried whether anyone outside the Club feels the win isn’t a big one, because he knows it is.
“We won and the most important thing for our dynamic is winning games. That helps a lot,” said Guardiola.
“I would say the first half against Fulham, Villa away they were much better than us.
“But other than that we played well and sometimes we don’t get the result we deserve.
“It is what it is. We have played the first half against these types of teams in this sort of stadium, (and today) we did it perfectly.
“We conceded not much and created half chances to score.
“The first half was much better than the second half. In the second we scored the goals. Overall, I am really satisfied.
“The dynamic is good. Now go to Belgrade to defend the work we have done in the group stage, play Crystal Palace and then go to CWC in Saudi Arabia.”
Guardiola says it was vital his players didn’t allow their heads to go down after falling behind in first-half added time.
Instead, he wanted more of the same from his players with added aggression in certain areas.
“Yeah we thought about that, but I said to them do we feel sorry for ourselves,” said the boss.
“We cannot feel sorry for ourselves. It’s football, it’s life.
“(I asked) strikers to be more aggressive to score goals and we need to defend crosses in the last minutes.
“Big teams are defined by these situations. I don’t like to see us winning 4-0 for many games in a row.
“Four games without winning and playing a team the way they played with big strikers, it’s not easy to do that.
“We needed the goal from Bernardo. He has the quality to do that. Jack first half should shoot first touch and in the second half he does it.
“They don’t need to prove to me that they have the character, but the competition demands it.
“They say it’s over and we say let’s prove them wrong. We need to live that. How satisfied are the players.
“The success we had is because we knew how difficult it is to win here.
“We have to forget people saying it’s normal to win 7-0 at Luton and grounds like this. Burnley before with Dyche and Stoke when I arrived, always it’s difficult.
“Whether the result is significant for people, I don’t care. The win is significant for us.”
