The Norwegian winger assisted his third goal of the tour as he laid on compatriot Erling Haaland’s opening strike and caused the Milan defence numerous problems all evening.
His starring role comes on the back of the 4-3 loss to Celtic where he scored one and made two – and he has certainly impressed his boss so far.
“He’s electric, in the small spaces he’s really good,” said Pep.
“Sometimes in the last part he has to be more composed and reduce his speed, for example the chance he missed he has to be more calm, shoot or pass to Erling and Jack.
“It’s a question of time, he’s young but his work ethic is unbelievable. He can play as a striker, pockets, right or left winger.
“When he’s comfortable he goes and dribbles, and when he does that it’s a big step for our attack.”
And on his understanding with fellow Norway international Haaland, Pep added: “They were really good, better than the last one [against Celtic].
“In the previous game he had an impact with two assists and a goal but today his contributions in the game, football is not just statistics, it’s how he plays at the highest level.
“He was decisive in 1v1 and 1v2, aggressive with and without the ball and played in different positions
“He played really well not just him, lots were really good, we have a young back four from the academy, playing except Rico so it’s normal.
“It’s an incredible experience for them and the future of us. It’s good to see how they’re playing and against top teams like Celtic and AC Milan. They’re top teams with senior players.
“It’s a top experience for our growth in the academy and for ourselves to see how they perform and develop.
“These games are fantastic because it’s difficult to see them during the season, their character and personality.
“Normally young players for the first team can’t express themselves. This time it’s the opposite, how they improve, surrounded by senior players it’s a good message for me.”
And Guardiola admits he is blessed with a variety of wonderful wing talent with established stars, a new signing and rising talents from the EDS and Academy.
“Well yeah with Jack and Bernardo they’re different types of wingers, for sure,” he said.
“But if we need another type, of course look at Micah, look at the action he’s done. He arrived, byline, perfect cross and Macca [James McAtee] header.
“Wingers are there to make the process with the ball and dribble 1v1 and 2v1, they have to compete with each other.
“The guys who produce, the more chances they have to play.”
