Pep Guardiola’s side were placed in Group C for our tenth-consecutive campaign in the competition, which will begin on 20/21 October.
This year’s group stage presents some new challenges in the form of Olympiakos and Marseille, who we have never played before in a competitive fixture, whilst it is eight years since we last faced Porto.

Sérgio Conceição is in his fourth season in charge at Estádio do Dragão and it has been a successful period for the former winger, who had two spells at the club as a player.
He has won five trophies in that time, including two league titles, a Portuguese Cup and a Portuguese Super Cup and he sealed a league and cup double last season.
Best European finish: European Cup/Champions League winners 1986–87 and 2003–04.

2019/20 European campaign
After being knocked out of the Champions League by FK Krasnodar in the third qualifying round, Porto topped their Europa League group, but were eliminated by Bayer Leverkusen in the last 32.
Form guide
At the time of writing, Porto are two games into their domestic season and sit top of the league having won both games, scoring eight times and conceding just once.
Previous meetings
We beat Porto 6-1 on aggregate in the last 32 of the 2011/12 Europa League.
An Alvaro Pereira own goal and one from Sergio Aguero gave us a 2-1 lead after the first leg in Portugal and Roberto Mancini’s side eased to victory at the Etihad Stadium, where Aguero, David Silva, Edin Dzeko and Claudio Pizarro were on target in a 4-0 win.
Olympiakos

Former Portugal international Pedro Martins has been in charge of the Greek club since 2018 and this will be his third full season at the helm.
He has lost just 15 of his 112 games in charge and led the team to a league and cup double in 2019/20.
Best European finish: Champions League quarter finalist 1998/1999.

2019/20 European campaign
Olympiakos finish third behind Bayern Munich and Tottenham Hotspur in Group B, holding Spurs to a 1-1 draw in Greece.
That meant they dropped into the Europa League knockout stage, where they were eliminated in the last 16 by Wolves.

When the draw was made, Olympiakos had played two league games and won both without conceding.
Marseille
Manager
Former Chelsea and Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas is the man in charge at the Stade Velodrome.
Last season was his first campaign in the role and he guided them to second place in Ligue 1, which was their best finish in seven years.
The 48-year-old has European pedigree having won the Europa League with Porto in 2010/11.
Best European finish: Champions League winners 1992/93.

2019/20 top scorer: Dimitri Payet (12 goals in all competitions).

Form guide
The Champions League draw was made five games into the Ligue 1 season, at which point Marseille had produced a mixed bag of results.
They won their first two games, including a 1-0 victory over defending champions Paris Saint-Germain, but then lost once and drew twice in a three match winless run.
