Our domestic success since Pep Guardiola grabbed his first major honour as City boss is even more impressive when you crunch the numbers.
Of those 22 matches, we have tasted victory on 19 occasions, drawn twice and been beaten just once.
Our stalemates against Leicester City and Chelsea in last season’s Carabao Cup saw us win on penalties on both occasions, while the 1-0 defeat to Manchester United belied an overall 3-2 aggregate victory in this season’s semi-final.
If that sequence of results was averaged into a 38-game Premier League season, we would have ended with a record 103 points, roughly 117 goals scored and just 17 conceded.

Familiar faces
Two players in particular have been a constant thorn in the side of our opponents when it comes to the FA Cup and Carabao Cup.
Gabriel Jesus has featured in all but two cup games in the past two years, only missing last season’s Carabao Cup Final win over Chelsea and our 4-1 triumph over Port Vale in the FA Cup third round back in January.
However, Riyad Mahrez can go one better than his teammate, as he has been involved in every single matchday squad in both competitions since joining the club.
The only time the Algerian has not been part of Guardiola’s 18-man squad during our unbeaten cup run was for the 3-0 win over Arsenal back in February 2018, and that was because he still played for Leicester!
Memorable Match #1 - Arsenal 0-3 City
The one that started it all.
Guardiola’s first trophy as City boss was secured with a dominant display at Wembley.
A lofted finish from Sergio Aguero put us ahead at the break, before Vincent Kompany’s quick reactions from a corner and a powerful David Silva strike saw us take home the silverware.
While there have been more spectacular performances since this victory, it provided a flavour of both our devastating attacking play as well as our steely, big game mentality.
At the sharp end
This incredible run has been put together thanks in no small part to our team spirit but, in terms of finding the back of the net, Gabriel Jesus has been head and shoulders above the rest.
In his last 20 domestic cup appearances, the Brazilian has scored on 13 occasions, including four in one game against Burton Albion in last season’s Carabao Cup semi-final.
Jesus also grabbed a brace in last season’s FA Cup final win over Watford, and is always one to turn up on the big occasion.
In terms of providers, it will come as no surprise to see Kevin De Bruyne near the top of the charts.
The Belgian has grabbed six assists, but top spot goes to Ilkay Gundogan, who has one more to his name.
Incredibly, four of the German’s seven assists came in one game - our 7-0 home win over Rotherham United.
Memorable Match #2 - Watford 0-6 City
A first FA Cup for Guardiola and the completion of domestic clean sweep.
Braces from Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus plus further strikes from Silva and De Bruyne capped off a typically clinical City performance.
The victory will live long in the memory, matching Bury’s 116-year-old record for largest winning margin in an FA Cup final.
Where it all started
Our incredible domestic run began 738 days ago on Sunday 25 February 2018 with a 3-0 win over Arsenal in the Carabao Cup Final.
To put into context how long our streak has been going on for, that victory saw Pep Guardiola secure his first trophy as City boss.
Since then, we have gone from strength to strength, picking up another seven honours in just over two years.
Now approaching his 20th birthday, a 17-year-old Phil Foden also came off the bench to make just his sixth appearance in Blue against Arsene Wenger’s side.
A team effort
Jesus may top the scoring charts, but he’s not been banging them in on his own.
In total Guardiola’s men have notched 68 goals in just 22 matches, conceding a measly 10 at the other end of the pitch.
Those goals have been shared out by a total of 18 different players, with Rodrigo the most recent addition after his Carabao Cup final strike against Aston Villa.
This just proves the incredible strength in depth Pep Guardiola has at his disposal, and the obvious selection headache he has to deal with on a weekly basis!
Memorable Match #3 - Manchester United 1-3 City
One of the most impressive away performances in recent history saw us sweep our local rivals aside within 45 minutes in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg.
Bernardo Silva opened the scoring in style with a ferocious left-footed strike, before Mahrez doubled the lead when he rounded David De Gea.
Andreas Pereira’s own goal five minutes later made sure we went in three goals to the good at the break.
Even though Marcus Rashford grabbed a consolation in the second half, it was a commanding away performance from the boys in blue.
