2003: 10-man City powered past local rivals Bolton 6-2 to secure what was our second Premiership win at our new home.

Shaun Wright-Phillips and Nicolas Anelka both netted twice, while Silvain Distin and Claudio Reyna notched up one each in an emphatic win at the City of Manchester Stadium.

Even Wright-Phillips’ red card in 62nd minute failed to dampen the high spirits in the home camp as Kevin Keegan’s side recorded our biggest ever Premiership win.

2011: Sergio Aguero‘s winner in the dying seconds secured City’s first Champions League win.

Roberto Mancini’s side looked set for more frustration after Villarreal belied their poor La Liga form to leave City on the brink of a third game without victory in the group stage.

Cani had set the tone for a tough evening when he gave Villarreal the lead after only four minutes and City’s only response was an own goal from Carlos Marchena just before the interval.

But deep into stoppage time, and with what turned out to be almost the final kick of the game, substitute Aguero arrived at the far post to turn Pablo Zabaleta’s cross past Diego Lopez to revive City’s hopes of reaching the knockout phase.

2014: Sergio Aguero scored four goals and missed a penalty as Manchester City saw off Tottenham 4-1 in a thrilling match to keep the pressure on leaders Chelsea at the top of the Premier League.

Two of Aguero‘s goals came from the spot, and he went home with the match ball despite being denied a hat-trick of penalties by Hugo Lloris’s fine stop.

Spurs had Federico Fazio sent off on his league debut, but the game hinged on a brilliant 65th-minute penalty save from City keeper Joe Hart, who denied Roberto Soldado with the score at 2-1.

The win meant City closed the gap on Chelsea to two points, before Jose Mourinho’s side restored their five-point margin with a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace.
