It comes as no surprise to learn Club captain and current longest-serving City player Fernandinho sits top of our appearance charts in the Champions League.
The Brazilian has featured 71 times in Europe’s elite competition for City since a 3-0 win at Viktoria Plzen back in September 2013, 16 more than second-placed Raheem Sterling.
Sergio Aguero, who is also City’s leading Champions League goalscorer with 34 strikes, sits third on the list with 64 appearances while David Silva (55) and Ilkay Gundogan (52) complete the top five.

City’s record after 50 Champions League matches stood at a commendable 21 wins, 12 draws and 17 losses but as we have continued to gain experience in the competition, our overall record has reached a new level.
Indeed, in the 50 matches leading up to our century, Pep Guardiola’s men have clocked up a stunning 34 victories.
During that time, we have found the net on 114 occasions and conceded just 48 in the process, claiming 19 clean sheets.
