January 4

2005: City’s last visit to one of the most famous grounds in the world, Highbury, ends in a 1-1 draw with Arsenal.

Boyhood Gooner Shaun Wright-Phillips opens the scoring with a stunning 25-yarder that silences the home fans.

Shaun’s dad Ian was a Highbury legend but even he jumps up to celebrate his son’s goal – before taking his seat again quickly!

Though Freddie Ljungberg levelled for the Gunners, it was an excellent start to the New Year for Kevin Keegan’s side.

2014: Manchester City were forced to settle for an FA Cup third round draw at Championship side Blackburn Rovers in a pulsating third round clash.

Manuel Pelegrini’s side looked on course to reach the fourth round when Alvaro Negredo fired us into the lead before half-time.

But Scott Dann levelled for Rovers and City had to play a nervous last nine minutes, including stoppage time, with 10 men after defender Dedryck Boyata was sent off for a second booking near the end.

A replay was probably not on the wish-list before kick-off for Pellegrini, who already has a crowded fixture list in January that includes both legs of his side’s Capital One Cup semi-final with West Ham.

2020: City began the defence of the FA Cup with a comfortable 4-1 victory over Port Vale at the Etihad.

Oleks Zinchenko gave City the lead midway through the first-half, only to be pegged back the visitors 15 minutes later.

But efforts from Sergio Aguero, Phil Foden along with a first senior strike from teenager Taylor Harwood-Bellis ensured our passage into the fourth round.
