Pep Guardiola’s team will be looking to defend the Premier League title yet again and extend our English top-flight record to five successive triumphs.
We’ll also be looking for success in the Carabao Cup, Champions League and FA Cup.
Having lifted the Community Shield last weekend, we’re off to the best possible start.
Our league season begins with a trip to Chelsea on Sunday 18 August, before newly promoted Ipswich Town are the first visitors to the Etihad Stadium on Saturday 24 August.
The campaign will then run until next spring with the winners crowned and final places confirmed on Sunday 25 May.
Here’s what you’ll need to know about our Premier League fixtures this season.
TV picks
The kick-off date and time of every match beyond our meeting with Fulham on Saturday 5 October is currently still to be confirmed.
That is due to broadcasters, who will select their matches from each round as the season progresses.
The Premier League plans to communicate these with clubs and fans weeks in advance of each round to ensure appropriate time for planning.
Every TV selection and kick-off change will be communicated on mancity.com and our official app.
International breaks
Men’s international breaks are scheduled for 1-9 September, 6-14 October and 10-18 November 2024 for the latest UEFA Nations League campaign.
Another international break takes place from 23-31 March 2025 as 2026 World Cup qualifying begins.
That means Pep Guardiola’s team will not play between those periods.
Winter break
The mid-season break has been removed from the calendar to allow a mid-August start date for the Premier League.
In recent seasons, one Premier League round of matches has been split in two to allow every team the opportunity for a break close to the halfway point of a gruelling campaign.
Carabao Cup start date
City will be looking to win the League Cup for the ninth time and the fifth under Guardiola this season.
Due to our involvement in the UEFA Champions League, we will enter at the third round of this year’s Carabao Cup.
Those matches will be played either the week commencing 16 or 23 September 2024, with the draw made after the second round is completed on week commencing 26 August 2024.
The final will this year be played on 16 March 2025 at Wembley.
Champions League start date
City will compete in Europe’s elite club competition for the 14th consecutive season in the 2024/25 campaign.
We will be going for our second trophy after lifting it in 2023 with victory over Inter in Istanbul.
However, this season will be a fresh experience for every team, with the structure of the tournament altering for the new term.
Instead of 32 teams split into eight groups of four, there will now be one league consisting of all 36 teams to reach this stage of the tournament.
Under the new format, teams will play eight matches in the league. They will no longer play three opponents twice – home and away – but will instead face fixtures against eight different teams, playing four matches at home and four away.
To determine the eight different opponents, the teams will initially be ranked in four seeding pots.
We will then face two teams from each pot - one at home and one away.
The draw for the league stage will be made on 29 August 2024, with the first matches to be played between 17 and 19 September 2024. The league stage will be complete on 29 January 2025.
The knockouts will then continue through the spring, with the final to be played at the Allianz Arena in Munich on 31 May 2025.
FA Cup start date
The FA Cup third round will take place on the weekend of 10 and 11 January, with the final to be played on Saturday 17 May at Wembley.
From the first round proper, the competition will be played without replays in an extension to the previous format, which did not include replays from the fifth round.
The final will now take place on the penultimate weekend of the Premier League season, on an exclusive Saturday with no Premier League fixtures taking place on the same day.
