The 20-year-old joins the Championship side ahead of the 2024/25 season as they push for promotion to the Premier League.
An academy graduate, Hamilton joined City at under-9 level and was a central figure in helping both our Under-18s and, latterly, Elite Development Squad claim a hat-trick of national titles in as many years.
The winger’s progress was recognised in a memorable 2023/24 campaign, beginning with him being named EDS captain ahead of the season.
But then in December he was given his first senior opportunity in our final UEFA Champions League group fixture away to Red Star Belgrade.
Not only did Hamilton start the match in the Serbian capital, but he would also find the net inside 19 minutes, dancing past two defenders before rifling into the roof of the net.
It set the tone for a standout display from the winger, with City going on to win 3-2.
His rise continued with him being included in Pep Guardiola’s squad which travelled to the FIFA Club World Cup later that month as City claimed the trophy for the first time in our history.
A home debut would follow in January when Hamilton was a second half substitute in our 5-0 FA Cup third round win over Huddersfield Town, before another Champions League appearance in March against FC Copenhagen.
Part of the City squad to travel to the United States for our pre-season tour this summer, Hamilton now starts a new chapter in his career at Middlesbrough, who finished just outside the Championship play-offs last season.
Everyone at City would like to wish Micah the best of luck in his future career and thank him for his efforts.
