Goater opened the scoring in the first half, however the game would be remembered for City’s second strike, as Jensen latched onto a Nicolas Anelka cross and unleashed a stunning left-footed volley into the top corner.

The goal is fondly remembered as one of City’s greatest in the Premier League.

2010: A Carlos Tevez hat-trick guided City to an impressive 4-1 win over Blackburn Rovers at the Etihad Stadium.

The Argentine opened the scoring after converting a Martin Petrov corner from close range seven minutes in.

Micah Richards made it two after a marauding run allowed the defender to find Benjani whose effort cannoned off the post, the on-running Richards was then on hand to tap in the rebound to round off a piece of individual brilliance.

Tevez capped the afternoon off with two stunning strikes from the edge of the Blackburn box to secure the match ball and all three points for Roberto Mancini’s team.

2020: A Pauline Bremer brace and a strike from Gemma Bonner gave City a 3-1 win over Everton at the Academy Stadium.

Bremer opened the scoring after bundling in a cross from Caroline Weir with 18 minutes on the clock.

The German then added a second early on in the second half as she hit a powerful effort from the edge of the box into the top corner.

We had our third shortly after, with Weir again the provider, as Bonner scrambled home her cross into the bottom corner to put Nick Cushing’s side out of sight.

Everton grabbed a late consolation through a Georgia Stanway own goal, however it wasn’t enough as City recorded a well-deserved three points.
