With the Premier League title already wrapped up, Champions City storm to a 5-0 triumph over Swansea at the Etihad Stadium.
Chasing an unprecedented 100 points (and several other league records), Pep Guardiola’s men race into a 2-0 lead after just 16 minutes, courtesy of goals from David Silva and Raheem Sterling, adding three in the second half through Kevin De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva and Gabriel Jesus to cap a superb win.
Birthdays
John Bray is born on 22 April 1909 in Oswaldtwistle.
The former left-half joined City in 1929 and stayed until 1938, winning the FA Cup in 1934 and the 1936/37 First Division title.
In total, he made 257 appearances for the Club, scoring ten goals, before ‘guesting’ for several teams during World War II.
Meanwhile, Spencer Prior celebrates his 49th birthday today.
The former City defender, who signed for the Club in 2000 to aid the Club’s Division One promotion push, was born in Southend on 22 April 1971.
Upon arrival at Maine Road, Prior made an instant impact to our bid for promotion with his leadership, solidity and even a few goals. He would tally 30 appearances in sky blue.
