On this day: Dunne leaves City after nine years of sterling service

On September 2, 2009, Richard Dunne left City.

The former City and Republic of Ireland skipper made 352 appearances during his time at the Etihad.

Dunne, who joined from Everton in October 2000 for £3.5m, played under five City managers during his nine-year stay before leaving for Aston Villa on this day in 2009.
