Oscar Bobb has spoken of his immense sense of pride after being presented with the match ball following his Premier League debut earlier this season.

The 20-year-old creative midfielder came on as a substitute for his first senior appearance during our 5-0 Etihad victory against Fulham at the start of September.

An Erling Haaland hat-trick allied to strikes from Julian Alvarez and Nathan Ake ensured that Bobb’s City league bow was a winning one.

Bobb has since gone on to also make his Champions League debut, followed by a first senior start for the Club in our Carabao Cup clash at Newcastle and also been awarded his maiden senior international cap by Norway.

Reflecting back on his Premier League bow, Bobb said it was a proud day both he and his family would never forget.

And the Academy graduate also revealed how the guidance and input from the City coaching team, who oversaw the Etihad preparations against Fulham while Pep Guardiola was recuperating from back surgery, along with his fellow players had proved invaluable, ahead of his inaugural Premier League appearance.

“Making my Premier League debut for City was great, it was a dream come true. A lifelong dream,” Oscar reflected.

“I was extremely proud but, in the moment, I was just focused and excited.

“Juanma (Lillo), Inigo (Dominguez) and Carlos (Vicens), all instructed me on what to do and what my role was, and they really helped me be prepared coming on to the pitch.

“The lads were obviously in a good position when I came onto the pitch which gave me that extra bit of confidence to try and show the fans what I am capable of.

“They were great too in helping prepare me and tell what to expect.

“Everyone knows the Premier League is the best and hardest competition in the world, so the day I made my debut was a proud day for me and family.

“I remember in 2017 I was at the Etihad along with my Mum and Dad watching City play Spurs in a Premier League game that December.

“So, coming onto the pitch to make my debut in that same environment with the great fans we have was even more special.

“It was a day I’ll never forget.”
