Having trailed to an early Marquinhos header at the Parc des Princes, City staged a magnificent second half comeback in the French capital.
Pep Guardiola’s side struck twice in seven minutes through skipper Kevin De Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez to overcome last season’s Champions League finalists and secure a crucial lead to take into next Tuesday’s second leg decider.
And speaking on our latest We’re Not Really Here matchday show, special guest Dickov described both the manner and fortitude of our display as one for the ages.

“That second half was one of the best performances I’ve seen from the club, especially in Europe in a long time. And all credit has to go to Pep and the players,” the former City and Scotland striker declared.
“That was a magnificent performance. We just dominated and PSG did not know what to do with us. A world-class performance from a world-class team.
“You can talk about the quality of the team but the character we’ve got as well, the quarter-final away at Dortmund, semi-final at PSG.
“Going a goal down and still sticking to what we know and having the belief and mentality to know that we’re going to get back into the game and win it.
“In both games, getting the away goal at 1-1, a lot of teams would sit back rather than looking to score two or three, it’s fantastic to see.
“Pep said they tweaked it a little bit at the back end of the first half and it was so noticeable about us pressing and winning the ball higher up the pitch.

“And then in the second half, the pace with which we moved the ball. PSG couldn’t handle us, they’re a top team and they were gone.
“In the last 20 minutes of the game they didn’t know what to do with us and it showed in the ill-discipline they showed.
“I think going into next week the confidence we will take of the different level we took the game to that PSG couldn’t handle, it’s going to be huge.
“We have world class players, but we’re a world class team as well.”
Shaun Goater, Dickov’s fellow guest on Wednesday’s We’re Not Really Here matchday show, was equally thrilled at what incredibly - was our 18th successive away victory in all competitions.
And the Goat pointed to City’s high tempo and quick passing - especially after the break - as the key ingredients in our latest success.

“That was one of the huge things, the tempo that allowed us to get Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden in the game,” Goater asserted.
“The sequences of passing, I was thinking ‘I want to see that again’ it was so exciting to see each of the players wanting the ball in tight areas, this is what we’re about, the tempo and how we moved it.
“We saw Phil get more involved, and I think City upped their game. It was brilliant!”
