Pep Guardiola says he will wait overnight before deciding whether to include Sergio Aguero in his selection plans for Tuesday night’s Premier League clash against West Brom.

The Argentine striker scored against Marseille on his return to action in midweek but was absent from the Manchester Derby draw against United due to illness.

However, asked at his pre-match press conference ahead of Tuesday’s Premier League home clash with West Brom whether Aguero would be back in contention for the visit of the Baggies, the boss said he would make a final decision ahead of the game tomorrow.

“Today he was training. The last two or three days he could not train,” Guardiola revealed.

“Today he trained, and we will decide tomorrow.”

The boss also confirmed that both Eric Garcia and Oleksandr Zinchenko were still unavailable due to injury.

“Eric is still not fit, Oleks neither. The rest are OK,” added Pep.

The boss also gave his reaction to City’s Champions League last 16 draw which pitted us against German side Borussia Monchengladbach with the deciding second leg to be played at the Etihad.

And the boss said he was expecting a tough test against the Bundesliga outfit.

“I learned when I was in Germany how big, important and historical a team they are. I respect the beauty of their football,” Guardiola asserted.

“I saw highlights, not full games (and) to go through from the group with Shahktar and Inter - made two incredible games against Shakhtar.

“All I can say is I want to arrive in the best possible condition when we play them. We will try and arrive in the best condition and best mood as possible. We want to compete as best as possible and go through.”

The City manager also paid tribute following the sad news earlier today of the passing of former Liverpool and Lyon manager Gerard Houllier.

“It’s sad news. On behalf of all at Manchester City, our deep condolences to his family,” Guardiola declared

“He was incredible lovely person when I met him at UEFA meetings or when we play Lyon, or when I met him as a player and manager. It’s sad news for all world football. All the best for his family.”
