Pep Guardiola says City will keep all options open in regards to whether the Club seek to make any more signings ahead of next week’s close of the summer transfer window.

City have already made a significant summer acquisition by signing Jack Grealish from Aston Villa.

The England attacking midfielder scored his first goal for the Club in Saturday’s impressive 5-0 Etihad victory over Norwich City.

However, asked whether he felt the Club would look to further strengthen the squad ahead of the close of the summer transfer window on August 31, Guardiola said City would continue to monitor the market and keep an open mind.

“When we decided not to extend the contract of Sergio Aguero and people asked what we would do, I said many times it would depend on the market,” the City manager asserted.

“Maybe we will buy, maybe not. It is still the same situation.

“There are still 10, 11 days (left) in the transfer market. We are going to see what happens and it depends on that when we are going to take a decision.

“If the squad stays the same one then I am more than pleased with the team.

“I know them really well. They know me really well.

“We put incredible energy in this week to compete with the good teams in England and the good teams in Europe. We want to be there.

“The group of people are fantastic. The players are incredible quality.

“I will never complain. I have never complained since day one and I will not do it now.

“But, of course, the club has an obligation and a duty to look forward to get better and to feel we can still be in there with a tough Premier League.

“This is what we are going to do.”
