With three Premier League matches and an FA Cup final to come in the next two weeks, Guardiola said the whole squad have to be ready to play their part.
Asked in Saturday’s press conference about his substitutes, Guardiola was quick to highlight their impact.
“Top,” he began.
“I know it’s not easy for them but I am pretty sure the next games they are going to play.
“I’m going to rotate the team otherwise we cannot arrive at the final or Bournemouth how we want to.
“Especially for Omar [Marmoush]. It’s not easy because we normally play with one striker and Erling is so important for us.
“The rate for goals to minutes played is high so it’s very good.”
Haaland scored City’s second goal on the afternoon, taking him to 50 for both club and country this season.
The Norwegian is in pole position for a third Premier League Golden Boot in four seasons having already led his nation to their first World Cup qualification since 1998 earlier in the campaign.
“He’s incredible,” said Pep.
“There was a period when he was so tired after Norway qualified for the World Cup.
“The difference for example is I saw the minutes of Ousmane Dembele and Erling has played 2,000 more. It’s a lot of minutes.
“Erling is always Erling. Threat for the opponent and a sense of goal. Erling just has to bring players close to him when we arrive from the sides.
“Then we will score more and more goals. When he’s alone in the box it’s so difficult.”
Guardiola was also asked further about Jeremy Doku, having praised him before the embargo section began.
The boss says our brilliant Belgian winger is determined to be one of the best in the world.
“That is all about mentality,” he said.
“I want to be one of the best in the world otherwise you are in your comfort zone.
“Always he had dribbles and hard work but he wants to become one of the best of the best.
“For sure. He always accepts being pushed. That is so nice.
“We are really pleased but we always have been. Now he is winning games with goals but always he has been really, really good.”
