And the boss said his famous goal against QPR that sealed our first league title in 44 years will never be beaten.
Aguero was superb at Selhurst Park, giving the Palace backline all sorts of problems with his movement before lashing home a quite brilliant half-volley to open the scoring.
It was vintage Aguero – the kind of finish few strikers in world football could muster.
The win means City now need just two points from our final four games - or a United defeat tomorrow against Liverpool - to seal a third Premier League title in four seasons.
And Guardiola was full of praise for Aguero afterwards, both for his brilliance on the field and his personal quality off it.
“Nothing will compare to the moment in 2012 for Manchester City,” he said.
“That is in the history of this club. Even if we win Champions League, nothing can compare to that.
“He showed again what he has shown in his career.
“What a goal. What a player. What a man.
“He was injured many times but he has been training really well and he is another weapon we have next Tuesday [against PSG].”
Aguero’s goal means he is now one short of equalling Wayne Rooney’s record tally of 183 Premier League goals for a single club.
And asked if Aguero would get chances between now and the end of the season to surpass Rooney, Guardiola was unequivocal.
“Definitely!” he said. “He deserves it.”
All eyes now turn to tomorrow’s match at Old Trafford between Manchester United and Liverpool.
City fans across the world will likely be tuning in to see if Liverpool can take three points and confirm our status as 2020-21 Premier League winners.
The boss says he will take a cursory glance at the game, but insists his priority now is preparing for our UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg against PSG on Tuesday evening.
“I will take a look,” he said.
“I am preparing for PSG tomorrow but I will take a look.
“We don’t need them, it’s in our hands. If not tomorrow, we have next week.
“We need two points to be champions from four games.”
