Pep Guardiola confirmed the Algerian is back in training after recovering from COVID-19, but the game comes too soon for Laporte, who has only just rejoined the squad after his bout with the virus.
Aguero is yet to return to training following the surgery he had on the knee injury suffered against Burnley in June.
“No, he still hasn’t made one training session with us,” said Guardiola when asked about the Argentine at his pre-match press conference.
“Riyad came back three or four days ago and is training. Today is the first day Aymeric is back. Mahrez is available for Wolves, Laporte not yet.”
City travel to Molineux on Monday evening (kick-off 20:15 UK), having bolstered the squad with the acquisitions of Nathan Ake and Ferran Torres.
Guardiola has been encouraged by what he has seen from his new recruits so far and revealed that whilst the versatile Ake can play at left-back as well as centre-half, he has been signed with a view to playing in central defence.
“We bought him as a centre-back but sometimes he can help us as a full-back,” he added. “Maybe if we get injuries, he can play there.
“So far, it’s really good. What you have to do, all the players and staff, all the people close to them, is help them settle as soon as possible.
“They are two nice people and they are going to help us.”
Transfers were a recurring theme of the manager’s pre-match media briefing, though Guardiola refused to comment on Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly and would not be drawn on Lionel Messi’s situation at Barcelona.
However, he did offer an explanation when asked why City had not considered a move for Bayern Munich’s Thiago Alcantara.
“We have enough players in this position,” was the boss’ response as he expressed his satisfaction with the Club’s transfer dealings.
“Since day one I arrived here I am more than satisfied with what I had in the team,” added Pep.
“I know the club does absolutely everything for me, the team, all of us.
“Sometimes it is the players who decide to move. But never before or in the future will I complain about this - I am a lucky person to be in this club.”
