The Algerian winger has become one of the integral figures in Pep Guardiolaās squad since joining us from Leicester City in the summer of 2018.
In the ensuing four seasons, Mahrez has helped City win three Premier League titles, three League Cups and an FA Cup along with reaching a maiden Champions League final.
To date, he has made 189 appearances for the Club, scoring 63 goals and contributing 45 assists.
āIām very happy to sign the new deal,ā Mahrez said.
āI have enjoyed every single minute of my time here. Itās a pleasure to be part of such an incredible Club.
āTo have helped us achieve the success we have enjoyed in the past four seasons has been unforgettable and made us all hungry to look to achieve even more.
āI would also like to thank Pep, Txiki and the coaching staff, both for the way they have helped me to develop as a player and for pushing me to continue to improve.
āNow I just want to try and play my part in helping us be successful next season and beyond.ā
Director of Football Txiki Begiristain added: āRiyad has played a major part in our success in the four years since he joined us, and we are all delighted he has agreed this new deal.āÆāÆ
āHe has brought so much to the Club with his skill, talent, commitment, and desire to win evident from the moment he first arrived. I also know that Pep and the coaching staff relish working with Riyad.
āÆāÆāHe is one of the most exciting wingers operating in the game and we are all very excited to know he will be part of our ongoing drive to try and achieve more success.āāÆāÆāÆ
Everyone at Manchester City congratulates Riyad on his new contract and wishes him the best of luck for the rest of his career here.
Wing command
The bigger the game, the bigger the impact.
That could be the compelling sub-text to Riyad Mahrezās substantial impact in four magnificent seasons to date at Manchester City.
Pressure has been known to suffocate many of the brightest talents.
However, as regards Mahrez, the expectation and demands that comes with operating at the highest level of the game has merely reinforced the supreme footballing ability that has been the outstanding hallmark of the attacking right wingerās City career to date.
Blessed with supreme technique, skill in abundance, possessing a silky, mesmeric dribbling ability and armed with a devastating eye for goal too, Mahrezās qualities were already more than evident when Pep Guardiola brought him to the Etihad in the summer of 2018.

One of the catalysts in Leicesterās impressive Premier League title success of 2015/16 and voted the PFA Player of the Year that season for good measure, Mahrez arrived at the Etihad with a glowing reputation.
That was further emphasised in his maiden season where he registered 12 goals all told.
Mahrez helped the Club create English footballing history as City became the first team to win all four major domestic titles, claiming the clean sweep of Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup and Community Shield.
Along the way, he registered the crucial third goal in our title-clinching 4-1 victory at Brighton on the final day of the league season as well as starting in our 6-0 FA Cup final win over Watford the following week.
With a successful first season under his belt, Mahrezās influence and impact further developed in the COVID-interrupted 2019/20 campaign.
More silverware followed too as he helped City retain the League Cup with Mahrez also contributing 13 goals across the course of the season.
His City career arguably hit even greater heights in a memorable 2020-21 term that gave full licence to his mesmeric dribbling ability and incisive creative output
It was a campaign that saw Guardiolaās side create a host of English Club records as we regained the Premier League title in swashbuckling style, retained the League Cup and stormed to a first-ever Champions League final.
And Mahrez was to the fore, claiming 14 goals all told, including a memorable brace which downed a star-studded Paris-Saint Germain in the Champions League semi-final second leg at a hailstorm-bound Etihad to seal Cityās passage to the showpiece final.
Rather than resting on his laurels however, Mahrez embodied the competitive mindset that underpins Guardiolaās squad by them embarking upon his most productive season yet at City across 2021-22.
The Algerian amassed a career-best seasonās tally of 24 goals across all competitions ā including six from the penalty spot ā as he finished as Cityās leading scorer, recording what was his highest-ever seasonās return.
That acumen from the penalty spot also further cemented his all-round importance to the cause.
Given the fact Mahrez was also away from Club action in January through his African Cup of Nations duties with Algeria only further illustrated the scale of his enormous contribution which proved key components in our dramatic retention of the Premier League title.
Fittingly, the final word on Mahrezās prodigious all-round contribution goes to City boss Pep Guardiola who has spoken passionately of his admiration for Riyadās quality and consistency.
āI know the quality Riyad has and heās a player I admire for the fact he handles the pressure,ā Guardiola asserted last term when outlining the qualities Mahrez brings to City.
āHe likes to play in the biggest stages. Itās difficult to find that and players like him.
āNot just me, the whole club has an incredibly high opinion of him and his quality, no doubt about that.
āHeās an exceptional player. Heās a player that many teams would like to have.ā
