The Portuguese centre-half has made a huge impact at the Club since joining us from Benfica last September and has emerged as a key cornerstone in the squad that has achieved 24 shut-outs already this term.
The 23-year-old also demonstrated his prowess at the other end of the field last Saturday, registering his first goal for City in our hard-fought 2-1 win over West Ham.
And ahead of Tuesday night’s latest Premier League assignment at home to Wolves, Dias highlighted the winning mentality and desire to win that has become hallmark of Pep Guardiola‘s squad.

“What makes the team is all of us,” Dias declared.
“Everyone brings a special attribute, but the team survives because all of us are good and have the right mentality,”
“We have that infinite ambition of all of us wanting to win.
“I have never seen this in any team or club like I am experiencing now.
“This desire of everyone wanting to be a part of it and wanting to be on this top level and win more and more and more, that is what makes this team.”
Dias also pointed to the inspirational leadership of manager Pep Guardiola in inspiring City’s record-breaking run and installing belief throughout the squad.

The Catalan has already won eight major trophies so far during his City tenure – and with the Club 12 points clear at the top of the Premier League and still pushing for success on three other fronts, he could further add to that remarkable tally this term.
For his part, Dias believes the boss’s impact in driving City on in a bid to try and achieve even greater standards of excellence was impossible to overstate.
“Pep is definitely one of the most important roles in all of this,” Dias added.
“The way he makes us believe in each game, the solutions he gives us so we can achieve more than our opponents and that will always be a turning point; the quality of the players in our team, if they are smart enough to understand what he is saying, what he wants.
“But major credit to him and to see what he sees in our opponents to give us the way through.”
City will take to the field against Wolves having secured a historic 20 consecutive wins in all competitions – a run that has seen us rewrite the English record books.

But rather than being preoccupied about records or lengthy runs, Dias insisted he and his colleagues were focused merely on the next challenge ahead of us.
“I don’t even think about, just let it come and that is the best way to preserve it,” the Portugal international continued.
“You also need to keep the level and keep playing good with the right mentality with everyone.
“The other day I was just thinking of how many times I answer to friends and family saying one game at a time. To have that feeling and just have it in your bones because if you don’t actually believe it then you won’t ever make it 20 wins in a row.
“I think apart from saying it you actually have to believe in it right now and since we began. We just believe in it. That is who we are.
“One game at a time and things will follow. I think that is the right mentality.”
