With Manuel Akanji, Nathan Ake, Aymeric Laporte and John Stones to select from as well as Dias, Pep Guardiola has a plethora of options in the central defensive positions.
And Dias insists that no matter which players are chosen for a specific match, they are comfortable playing together.

“The mentality we have in our group,” he said.
“In the end it is another challenge. To be training with some of the best opponents in the world.
“Even if you have all the routines in training, when you actually play it can be different. The way we work together - I might play on the left or right, then you can play two games and the third you’re not playing - that reveals the amount of quality we have.
“And the mentality we have - whatever happens we keep going. The main thing is for the team to be successful and we have that in our mind always.”
City’s defenders have had a daunting challenge in training so far this season - marking Erling Haaland.
Haaland has enjoyed an incredible start to life at City, scoring 22 goals in his 15 appearances across all competitions.
Dias came up against the Norwegian when City met Dortmund in the quarter-finals of Europe’s elite competition in 2021 and now says facing up against our No.9 when the training schedule allows is helping him become a better player.
He stated: “We end up not having that much time to train against each other with so many games. We had more in pre-season.
“But we can honestly say it is good for me personally and for all of us in terms of the quality we have around us, not just Erling, every single one.
“It is good to train with the best if you want to be one of them. To have this quality around us makes us harder.”
