Savinho says there’s an upbeat mood in camp as City eye a positive result against Crystal Palace this weekend.

Pep Guardiola’s men went seven games without victory before defeating Nottingham Forest 3-0 at the Etihad on Wednesday.

Our Brazilian baller admits he’s not enjoyed the tough set of results because he hates losing.

But he was always confident that things would turn because of the calm atmosphere at the CFA and the quality of his teammates.

He believes the midweek victory over Nuno Espirito Santo’s side has offered a reset as the Blues now look to build momentum.

“Speaking personally, I don’t like to lose – I don’t take it well, I get really annoyed,” he said.

“The last few weeks have been horrible for me. I thank god that we were able to get the win against Nottingham Forest.

“We just kept working hard. We knew that we’d never been on a run like this for years, but I was quite surprised by how well the players dealt with it.

“We knew that it was a bad run, but that everything passes, and hopefully we’re out of it now and we can follow up with three points against Crystal Palace.

“Nothing changed, we kept doing what the manager asks of us. The results have been bad, so people think that something is going on, but that’s not the case. It’s been a calm atmosphere.

“We know that it’s not always sunshine and flowers, that at some point a bad spell is going to come.

“Everyone has their difficult moments, but they also pass at some point too. We won against Forest to get our confidence back and move on with the season.

“Now it’s about looking forward. We have our objectives which are game by game, as Liverpool are a few points ahead of us, but we now have that win to get out of that bad run, so it’s about winning game by game and I hope we can continue like that.

“We hadn’t been able to win for the last few games, so we were happy. We have our confidence back and now we’re back, hopefully we can continue like this.

“We’d been working hard in the lead up with the time we had, because here every two or three days is a new match.

“So now we’re already back preparing for Crystal Palace to get the three points.”

The 20-year-old was City’s first summer signing ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.

And he’s shown his pace, grace and talent in the four months of the season so far, with our former captain and fellow Brazilian, Fernandinho, this week praising the young winger’s maturity.

Savinho himself is loving life at the Premier League champions.

“For me it’s a dream come true to be here at Manchester City,” he added.

“I think every player dreams of playing at a big club, of winning the opportunities that I’ve had.

“So, I’m privileged to be here with the best coach in the world, the best players in the world.”
