The Club announced this week that our record goal-scorer will leave at the end of the current campaign, bringing 10 years of goals and sustained success from the legendary Argentine to an end.
The City boss was also asked if the discussion about Aguero’s immediate future was tough, he admitted it was exactly that, and more.
“Of course it was difficult,” said Pep.
“It was difficult with Joe Hart when I arrived. Joe didn’t deserve it - but I had to make the decision and as a manager, we have to make decisions.

“It was not easy, but it was not hard because I have a good relationship with Sergio and what we decided is best for this club, it is simple.
“But we still have two months -and the two training sessions since he knew he was incredible.
“And he will help us between now and the end of the season.”
The boss also added he is not planning on anybody arriving to take Sergio’s place this summer, saying the finance of all clubs had suffered during the global pandemic.
“I understand completely the situation for our club and all the clubs,” said Pep.
“We are not going to do any specific things the club cannot do.
“In that moment if you ask me honestly what is going to happen (regarding incoming transfers), I will say it won’t happen.
“All the clubs are struggling and we are not an exception.
“I have always been OK with this team and the players I have - even in the first season when we didn’t win any trophies and 10 or11 players over 30.
“I am lucky to have players and my duty is to use the players my club provides and give the best for the team and club and when the club says we can do it, OK - if they say we can’t, we are not going to do it.
“The most important thing is to be sustainable over the years. We haven’t spent incredible figures and that is what we will, continue to do.
“When I hear we will sign four strikers… it is not going to happen we will stay with players we have.”
