The 21-year-old arrives on a four-year deal from Anderlecht and is our fifth arrival of this summer’s transfer window, following in the footsteps of Julian Alvarez, Erling Haaland, Stefan Ortega Moreno and Kalvin Phillips.
A five-cap Spanish Under-21 international, Gomez began his career in Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy, progressing to the B team before completing a switch to Borussia Dortmund in January 2018.
He made three appearances for the German outfit prior to embarking on a two-season loan with Huesca, where he played 68 times for the La Liga side.
Gomez joined Anderlecht last summer and enjoyed a fine campaign under the tutelage of former City captain Vincent Kompany, scoring seven goals and providing 15 assists in 50 appearances.
At international level he has been capped by Spain at every age group from Under-16 through to Under-21s, winning the European Championships at Under-17 and Under-19 level, whilst he was voted the second-best player at the 2017 Under-17 World Cup behind new team-mate Phil Foden.
