The Etihad icons are amongst the latest inductees announced today by the league and are joined in the Hall of Fame by Paul Scholes, Didier Drogba, Ian Wright and fellow former City player, Peter Schmeichel.
Kompany established himself as the inspirational figurehead of the side during his illustrious 11 years at the Etihad.
Having joined City from SV Hamburg shortly before our transformative takeover by the Abu Dhabi United Group in the summer of 2008, the Belgian centre-half went on to help drive the Club to a period of success unparalleled in our history.
His iconic Etihad header against Manchester United in May 2012 helped set the scene for our maiden Premier League title.
And over the course of his 360 games, which saw him score 20 goals, Kompany helped City to secure four Premier League titles, two FA Cups, four League Cups and two Community Shields.
His final goal, a stunning 30-yard strike against Leicester, paved the way for our 2018/19 title triumph and Vincent bowed out after leading City to the 2019 FA Cup, subsequently becoming player-manager at Anderlecht.
Commenting on the honour, the 36-year-old said: “I feel that I found a home at Manchester City and in the Premier League so I am delighted to be joining the Hall of Fame.
“I came to love the club and I think the biggest achievement of my career was to be a part of such an incredible journey, where we progressed from a side without high expectations to become a dominant force and champions four times.”
Fellow inductee, Argentine striker Aguero – who joined City in the summer of 2011 - cemented himself in both City and football folklore forever with his iconic 93:20 title winning goal against Queens Park Rangers in May 2012, to seal our first-ever Premier League title.
Kun went to become the Club’s all-time leading scorer, amassing an incredible 260 goals from 390 games and he is widely regarded as one of the finest strikers to ever grace the English game.
In total, Aguero won 15 major trophies during his time at City, including five Premier League titles, one FA Cup and a record six League Cups.
He also established a tranche of remarkable individual records, becoming the highest scoring overseas player in Premier League history – and set a new benchmark for the most Premier League hat-tricks after registering his 12th treble away at Aston Villa in 2020.
Sergio left City last summer to join Barcelona before subsequently retiring on health grounds last December.
And like Kompany, the 33-year-old said he was thrilled and honoured by his latest prestigious accolade.
“Since I was nine or 10 years old, I wanted to play in the Premier League,” Aguero said. “I think it is the best league in the world, where the football is fast and beautiful and the atmosphere is always incredible.
“Entering the Hall of Fame makes me happy for myself and for my family. My son can say that is something his father has achieved.
“I just loved playing football here with Manchester City and the memories of winning the Premier League five times, including the most important goal of my career to win that first one.
“I miss my team-mates and the fans a lot still now.”
Today’s sextet take their place alongside the 10 other players who have already voted into the Hall of Fame, including fellow former City duo, Patrick Vieira and Frank Lampard.
All of the latest inductees were selected by the public, through an online vote, along with the Premier League Awards Panel.
