Manchester City will face Sevilla in the UEFA Super Cup final.

Pep Guardiola’s side booked our place in next season’s European curtain raiser thanks to our epic Champions League final victory over Inter – confirming our status as champions of Europe for the first time in our history.

Sevilla, meanwhile, secured their spot in the showpiece by overcoming Roma in the Europa League final after a 4-1 penalty shootout success following a 1-1 draw after extra-time in Budapest.

The 2023 Super Cup will take place at Greece’s Stadio Georgios Karaiskakis in Athens on Wednesday 16 August, with kick-off scheduled for 20:00 (UK).

And it will be the first UEFA club competition final to be hosted in the country since AC Milan beat Liverpool 2-1 in the 2007 Champions League final in Athens.

It also represents the first time City will compete in the final, while it will be the sixth time the Spanish side have been present in the fixture.

Sevilla have won the trophy on only one of those occasions, though, beating Barcelona 3-0 in 2006.

As current Champions League holders, Guardiola’s team will be designated as the home team in Greece.

The Club will be detailing ticket arrangements and travel plans in due course. Keep across our official app and mancity.com for all the latest information.
