City will lock horns with Manchester United once again in the Continental Cup, with the pair pitted together in the 2020/21 group stage draw.

The two Manchester Clubs have been placed in Group C, alongside fellow FA Women’s Super League outfit Everton and Championship side Liverpool.

This year’s tournament will be increased from four groups to six, with four teams competing in five of the groups, and three in the other. The six teams finishing top of their group will progress to the quarter-finals stage, alongside the two best runners-up.

City have won the competition on three occasions – in the 2014, 2016 and 2018/19 campaigns – and last lifted the trophy with a penalty shoot-out win over Arsenal at Bramall Lane.

We faced both Liverpool and Everton in the group stage en route to our maiden success and our first piece of major silverware in 2014 – and again the following year.

Following our first Manchester Derby triumph in the 2019/20 league season opener, United emerged victorious in our second meeting - 2-0 win in the Conti Cup.

A 4-1 victory at Everton secured our place in the knock-out rounds but the holders were eliminated at the last four stage by eventual runners-up Arsenal.

The 2020/21 Conti Cup marks one of five remaining trophies available this season, with two FA Cup tournaments to play, in addition to the FA Women’s Super League and Champions League campaigns.

Fixture details will be confirmed in due course.
