KERSTIN CASPARIJ
The Netherlands international has flourished under the tutelage of Jeglertz, and Casparij has led by example throughout the season.
Operating in the right-wing-back role, she has made the joint second-highest appearances in all competitions for the Blues this season and has made her presence felt in the defensive and attacking thirds.
So far in 2025/26, she has registered 10 goal involvements which includes seven WSL assists – the joint most across the division after 20 matches.
She scored and provided in our euphoric 3-2 win over Arsenal at the Joie Stadium before tallying two assists in our memorable 3-0 Manchester derby success against United at the Etihad Stadium in November.
And in the absence of Alex Greenwood during the early stages of the campaign, Casparij wore the captain’s armband with distinction while being a key cog in Jeglertz’s machine
YUI HASEGAWA
City’s midfield metronome, Hasegawa, has again proved to be one of world football’s finest operators in 2025/26.
Throughout her distinguished time at City ahead of this season, she anchored our midfield expertly, but under Jeglertz, she has been afforded the freedom to showcase her talents up and down the field.
This was immediately on show in our second WSL assignment of the term when she made a late run to the edge of the box to score our winner in a 2-1 victory over Brighton at the Joie Stadium.
What’s more, the 2025 Women’s Etihad Player of the Season helped Japan to 2026 Asia Cup glory across March alongside fellow City teammates Aoba Fujino, Ayaka Yamashita and Risa Shimizu.
KHADIJA ‘BUNNY’ SHAW
Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw has broken new ground once again this season thanks to her phenomenal goalscoring exploits.
Ahead of City’s final two top-flight assignments this season, she currently sits at the top of the division’s striking chart with 19 in 20 outings at present as she aims to become the first player in the competition’s history to win three successive Golden Boots.
Of those 19 goals, she bagged four in a 6-1 win over Aston Villa in December 2025 which saw her become the first women’s player to reach, and then surpass, 100 goals for City.
In all competitions, Shaw has scored 22 goals and registered seven assists in 28 appearances in 2025/26.
LAUREN HEMP
After injury woes hampered Hemp’s progress last season and at the start of this, she’s back to her scintillating best after returning to the field in November.
A 2-1 win away at Everton represented her first outing back after sustaining an issue in win over Spurs two months earlier – and the two-time European Championship winner hasn’t looked back.
Just six days after Hemp’s appearance at Goodison Park, she started against Manchester United at the Etihad and lit up the derby with a thunderous effort from the edge of the box which extended Jeglertz’s side’s lead to 3-0 before half-time.
Since then, she’s delivered consistency from wide and attacking areas which has seen her score six goals and register seven assists in all competitions across 22 outings.
VIVIANNE MIEDEMA
Approaching the final furlong in 2025/26, Vivianne Miedema currently has 18 goal involvements to her name with the WSL’s all-time leading goalscorer one of Jeglertz’s most trusted lieutenants.
Operating in the Swede’s fluid front three and often playing just off a lone striker, she’s had the freedom to architect attacking moves and also showcase her clinical calmness in front of goal.
This was epitomised in City’s 6-1 win over Aston Villa when, after providing Shaw’s opener, she fizzed a fantastic pass into the path of Aoba Fujino who then slammed home.
Miedema then wrote her name onto the scoresheet to round off the scoring against the Villans.
She’s also proved to be a player for a big occasion too when registering goal involvements in wins against Chelsea and Manchester United in 2026.
