City were crowned WSL champions following Arsenal’s draw with Brighton, meaning no team in the division can match our current points tally.
The England international has been integral to the success of Andrée Jeglertz’s team this season, captaining the side throughout 23 appearances in all competitions.
And since signing for the Blues in the summer of 2020, the WSL triumph represents the first time she has lifted league title.

For Greenwood, she says a shift in the Club’s culture has helped City believe we could win the title.
“[It feels] absolutely incredible. A moment, we as a team, me personally, us as a club has waited so long for,” she explained.
“An incredible moment, it’s an incredible feeling. I’m so glad we got to spend this moment together as a group. Just an absolutely incredible feeling.
“There’s been moments in the season and a feeling within our four walls where we felt confident. We spoke about being winners, and have been confident to speak like that.
“We’ve had a bit of a shift in mindset to feel comfortable to speak in that language. That’s been a massive difference in our culture.
“We’ve worked really hard on those small details of acting like champions, playing like champions, speaking like champions.
“Sometimes it’s a difficult conversation when you’re not actually champions or been there, it’s a change in body language and thought process in games.
“Now we can say it and it’s real. We are champions. It’s one the best feelings I’ve ever had.”
Greenwood was named City captain in the summer of 2024 following Blues legend Steph Houghton’s retirement.
Since then, she has led the team with distinction which has now led to major honours with Jeglertz’s team being crowned WSL champions.
And she says it’s been an honour to lead the team since taking the armband.
She added: “It’s been an absolute pleasure. They’re an unbelievable group of girls, for me personally, I’ve loved the responsibility I’ve had. I’ve loved the responsibility the manager has given me, Andree has been incredible with me personally.
“[He’s] allowed me to be vulnerable at times because I almost lead the team, but he leads the whole group. I suppose we can lean on each other a little bit in moments, how the group’s feeling, how I’m feeling, how he’s feeling.
“That’s been really important to have those conversations with him, but for me, leading the group has – one – been really easy because they’re just a fantastic group of girls.
“Two – challenging at times because as a captain you want to be the one who drives the team a lot which I think I do.
“But it’s also important to be vulnerable to show emotion, to show you really care. I do really care about this team and this club a hell of a lot. I hope they know that.”
