The Jamaican forward broke new ground by notching 31 goals in all competitions, a record across a single campaign for our women’s team.
Her exploits saw her named Women’s Player of the Season in a fan vote, while she was also shortlisted for the Barclays Women’s Super League’s equivalent award.

And her impressive journey will continue at City until at least 2026, with Bunny having agreed to a contract extension following the season’s end.
Below, we break down some of the impressive numbers behind her standout campaign…
Overall goal record
Shaw finished the 2022/23 season with an astonishing 31 goals in all competitions, surpassing Nikita Parris’ previous highest total of 25 for a Women’s player across a single season.
She achieved that tally in just 30 matches, meaning she found the net at a rate greater than once per game.
When you add nine assists onto that total, her overall goal involvements for the campaign stand at an incredible 40.
The Jamaican scored 20 of those goals in the WSL, two in as many UEFA Women’s Champions League matches, two in two Continental Cup fixtures and an astonishing seven in three FA Cup appearances.
WSL alone
With 20 goals in 22 appearances, Shaw finished the WSL campaign finding the net at an average of 0.94 per match.
In doing so, she surpassed Parris’ previous Club record of 19 across a single league campaign, with her strikes equating to a goal every 95 minutes.
Shaw reached that tally from 91 shots, with 48% of those finding the target.
Type of goals
When diving deeper into the types of goals Shaw scored, it paints a remarkable picture.
Indeed, all but one of the Jamaican’s 31 strikes were inside the box. Of those, 21 were with her first touch, demonstrating her outstanding movement and clinical instinct in the danger zone.
She grabbed 15 of those goals with her favoured right foot, with a further seven on her left.
Shaw’s aerial presence is also clear to see, with the 26-year-old adding a further nine to her overall tally with her head.
Eight of those came in the WSL, the most of any player across the 2022/23 campaign.
Who’s assisted her?
With the plethora of attacking and creative talent at City’s disposal, Bunny no doubt works in unison with her teammates to breech opposition defences.
And the player who has provided Bunny the most league goals last term was Lauren Hemp, with four of the winger’s six WSL assists finished off by the Jamaican.
The England midfielder’s tally is closely followed by her national team colleagues Alex Greenwood and Laura Coombs who supplied two goals each for the 26-year-old.
