The two-time FIFA World Player of the Year is certainly no stranger to success, boasting a CV glittering with trophies and individual accolades, including two World Cups and Olympic gold medals!
Widely regarded as one of the greatest players to play the game, the midfielder has plenty of incredible career moments to savour, including a hat-trick in a World Cup Final!
Yet, having helped City to our very first FA Cup triumph during her spell in Manchester in 2017 (with a goal in the 4-1 victory over Birmingham at Wembley), the United States star says she holds the achievement in high regard.

“It’s something I’ll cherish forever,” she said, speaking exclusively to ManCity.com for Sunday’s We’re Not Really Here matchday show.
“It’s every soccer players’ dream – being able to play in an iconic stadium like Wembley.
“I have two wins from two there, which is incredible! I played there in the 2012 Olympic Final and winning gold there, looking around and seeing 83,000 people there was unbelievable.
“I never thought I’d have the opportunity to play in that stadium again so then to go back years later and be able to play there in such a prestigious tournament in the FA Cup – and win it – is pretty cool!
“My name as well as my teammates’ is etched in history.
“It was such a great team win. I’d joined a couple of months prior – I wasn’t there for too long – but I remember we had an incredible team with a lot of good goals. I was really happy to be part of it.
“The way the team was playing, we were determined to win and it was great to be part of. Then going up and getting the trophy in that iconic way and doing the victory lap was really cool.
“I’d watched English Premier League teams do it on TV and I was able to be part of that as well.”

In addition to reflecting on her time at the Club, Lloyd also relived her Wembley goal (and iconic knee-slide celebration) and shared her thoughts on the influx of American stars into the FA Women’s Super League, including City recruits Sam Mewis and Rose Lavelle.
