However, the midfielder has called for Gareth Taylor’s side to simply devote all our attention to the next fixture, rather than getting carried away by any potential success come the end of the campaign.
She said: “It’s exciting. I think if you’d said this was what we would be fighting for at the start of the season when we were going through a bit of a tricky time, we’d have taken it.
“There is a lot to play for. With the Champions League, the league games are so important and then an FA Cup final to look forward to is always a nice way to end the season.
“We’re in a good moment and a good run of games and will try to keep that going for as long as possible. We know every game is so important, so we’ll just be focusing on ourselves.
“There’s loads of cliches there, ‘not looking too far ahead, take each game as it comes…’ but as a player, that’s literally what you do.
“It’s what the emphasis is on: the game right in front of you, because that’s the most important one at that time.
“If you don’t win that one it means you might not be in the same position for the next one. We focus on a game at a time.”

The objective is simple for City: beat Brighton, Birmingham and Reading in our final three matches of the FA WSL campaign and we will seal Champions League qualification.
And Weir believes home advantage in the first two of those matches will stand Gareth Taylor’s side in good stead.
“The support this season has been great, having fans back has been amazing and there’s been some good moments that the fans have been able to see at home,” she pointed out.
“It’s definitely an advantage for us as well not having to travel, the players have done a lot of travelling recently all over the world so the more games at home, the better.
“Logistically it makes things a bit easier as well, so I’d say it’s a bonus.”
Should she feature, then this weekend’s match against Brighton will bring about a hugely impressive milestone for City winger Lauren Hemp.
The 21-year-old is in line to make her 100th appearance for the Club, and Weir has explained the impact that the England international has had during her time at the Academy Stadium.
The midfielder said: “I think she’s had another great season, she’s still so young and has such a good work ethic.
“She’s impacted so many games for us we can always rely on her to come up with a magic moment and help us through difficult games.
“She’s great, I can’t believe it’s 100 games because she seems so young still, but she’s obviously been here for a couple of years. I’m really happy for her.”
