JEGLERTZ PREVIEW
Speaking to the media head of the game, the boss said: “[Chelsea] are a great team and definitely look different from when we played them in February. They’ve found a stability of how they perform and have great players in all positions.
“We’re looking forward to this challenge and the last time we played at their home we lost, so we want to make a better performance.”
OPPOSING MANAGER: SONIA BOMPASTOR
Bompastor is widely considered one of the best French players of all time, amassing 156 appearances for her nation.
She was a serial winner with French side Lyon before becoming their Head Coach in 2021 and became the first woman ever to win the Champions League as a player and a manager by the end of her first season in charge.
Lyon won the Division 1 Feminine in each of her three seasons in charge before Bompastor moved to Chelsea in the summer of 2024 – winning a domestic Treble in her maiden campaign in England.
Alongside Jeglertz, she is the only manager in WSL history to win the title in her first season at the helm.
PREVIOUS MEETING
City put five past Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium in the previous meeting between the sides.
A magnificent Kerolin hat-trick and goals from Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw and Vivianne Miedema helped the Blues to the 5-1 success in the Barclays Women’s Super League.
LAST TIME OUT
Rebecca Knaak scored a dramatic stoppage time header to seal a precious 1-0 win over Liverpool in City’s previous assignment.
With a goalless draw looking likely with the clock ticking past the 90th minute, Alex Greenwood’s corner was met by the Germany international who directed the ball into the bottom corner.
The win moved City to within touching distance of the title and maintained our 100% home record in the league in 2025/26.
The result also meant that, when Arsenal drew with Brighton three days later, we sealed the WSL title for the first time in a decade.
