Nick Cushing preview

Our Interim Head Coach admitted in his pre-match press conference that Vivianne Miedema’s hamstring injury picked up on international duty is likely to rule her out for the rest of the season.

Elsewhere, Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw is also likely to miss Sunday’s FA Cup clash with the injury she sustained in March’s League Cup final against Chelsea.

Cushing also added that Alex Greenwood, Lauren Hemp, Rebecca Knaak and Aoba Fujino are all back in training, but that they wouldn’t be risked by rushing them back too soon.

      Last time out

We travelled to Brighton in a thrilling match-up as we emerged with a 2-1 win from the Broadfield Stadium

After a tough first 45 minutes, it looked like either side could take the lead, but it was City but who broke the deadlock as Kerstin Casparij netted her first WSL goal of the season.

After another tight battle in the second-half, it took until added time before the crowd had anything to cheer.

Again it was City that found a way through the defensive line, with Vivianne Miedema doubling the lead from close range.

Despite a late goal from Charlize Rule it could only act as a consolation as we became the first team to win at the Broadfield Stadium in the league this season.

          Previous Meeting

The last time we met the current FA Cup holders was in the League Cup quarter-final where we won 2-1.

It was an exciting game which saw a flurry of first-half goals.

Laura Coombs sent the Blues ahead after 12 minutes played before United’s Millie Turner scored an equaliser almost 25 minutes later.

On the brink of half-time, Lily Murphy recorded a stellar solo goal to seal the victory in City’s favour.

          Broadcast details
