The forward was one of six players to have missed Tuesday’s Champions League Round Two trip to Real Madrid, having remained in Manchester as a precaution, following surgery to aid her breathing.
Previewing Saturday’s trip to Goodison Park in his pre-match press conference, Taylor revealed the 22-year-old is fit to face the Toffees, although she will wear a protective mask and may require reduced minutes.

The City boss also explained Ellen White is nearing a return and shared an update on Lucy Bronze, while there was less positive news on Ellie Roebuck and Keira Walsh, who also did not travel to Spain and have been ruled out for an ‘extended period’ with calf injuries.
“I can probably give you an update on a few,” Taylor said. “Georgia’s back in contention. She has potentially reduced minutes but she is still an option.
“She had to have an operation having had breathing difficulties. She’ll wear a protective mask but it means she can be part of training and get fit. We’re able to count on her for a period of the game.
“Ellen’s a toss-up but she’s close. I can’t go into detail. She’s progressing quite well. I think she’s there or thereabouts. Tomorrow might be a bit too soon so potentially Wednesday against Madrid.
“I think the likes of Keira and Ellie are a bit further away. Ellie and Keira have similar injuries (calf) – they’ll probably be out for an extended period.
“They’ll be looking at missing this batch of games to the international break unfortunately.
“It’s a blow when you look at those three, especially without discussing others – that’s the spine of our team.
“Lucy’s good. She’s back doing her rehab but her operation was a success. Losing a player of her stature and quality wasn’t ideal.
“It all seems to have come at once but she’s in good shape and spirits and on course to shave off that recovery time.
“Whatever the period set by the medical team is, they’re good at shaving the time off – not putting themselves at risk but working so hard to get back on the training pitch.
“It’s a big loss but a good opportunity for others to step up. We’re looking forward to getting those players back.”
Thursday saw City secure our sixth signing of the summer, as Swedish international Filippa Angeldahl made the move to Manchester.
Though delighted to have bolstered the squad with the recruitment of another Olympic medallist, Taylor admitted the attacking midfielder - our new number 12 - may not be in contention immediately.
“It’s brilliant [to have signed her],” he reflected. “I’m really pleased to add her to the group – a player with good pedigree behind her.
“She scored a couple for Hacken in the Champions League the other night. She’s a player we’ve been monitoring for a while but we’ll have to be patient with the VISA, etc.
“As and when she’ll be available is still to be determined. It’s hard to say. She can’t play in the Madrid game because of her Hacken inclusion.
“We’ll know in a few days. It might be too soon for tomorrow but if the clearance comes though later, then fantastic. Let’s see.
“She was with us today, which was great. She’s a much-needed extra body.
“She brings quality. She’s a player who can handle the ball in good situations. For us, looking at the succession plan of what we needed and look to achieve, we like midfielders who are sometimes attacking and defensive. Filippa can do both – she brings a goal threat in the attacking role as well.
“Also, I think midfield players have that ability to play in the front line and perform a different role, playing between the lines, etc. It’s always determined by what the team needs. It will be one of two positions – she can play in the pivot in the more attacking role and give us that threat.
“Keira can do both, Vicky too and Laura Coombs. You want that flexibility with players but it also takes time to settle in and work on the way we play, getting that education to fulfil their talent.
“Everything was quite late but we’re really pleased to add her to the squad. She kept coming up on our radar. We’d have liked to have done it sooner but she was at the Olympics. Hopefully, the clearance won’t be too far away and we can use her.”
Asked whether he is concerned with his injury list and whether it has affected the mood in the camp ahead of the new campaign, Taylor replied: “It’s a concern and obviously, it’s coupled with a late pre-season (we had and players returning late) but we’re not the only ones.
“It is what it is. We still have able people to come in and show the quality we have, making sure we’ll be there and we’ll fight and give our very best.
“When we get these players back, it’ll help massively. It’s not ideal but we’ll tackle it get on with it and deliver the best we can.
“The players are excited. There’s a degree of feeling of unfinished business. We had success in first competition we entered – the first trophy will be the FA Cup.
“We took it to the final game [of last season’s title race] against Chelsea but we want to go a step further.
“We’ve done it before. We want to be there and fight for the titles. That’s what makes it exciting working at a Club like this.”
