Kennedy and Mace are yet to feature this season after sustaining shoulder and thigh injuries on international duty in the summer, but the boss says they are both progressing well in their respective recoveries.
Taylor revealed that Kennedy would link up with her Australia team-mates in the upcoming international break, but wouldn’t be available for selection.
However, he did admit that the defender would be close to a return once the WSL season commenced.
It was a similar story when asked about Mace’s condition, with the boss hoping the youngster will be back in the fold after another period of training during the upcoming break.
Taylor said of the squad’s shape: “Pretty good. Ruby Mace is getting that little bit closer. Alanna as well, but they won’t be considered.
“Alanna had a good check-in with the surgeon who is happy with everything that’s going on with her shoulder.
“She will join up with the Matildas in the next camp, not to partake in any games but it will be good for her to be around that environment.
“We’re probably looking at after the international break to potentially step up and get possible minutes for games.

“Outside of that, everyone else is looking sharp and fresh. There’s some good competition going into the games.
“With Ruby, she had a slight setback in her thigh injury but we’re pretty confident she’ll get a good level of training under her belt albeit in slightly smaller numbers in the international break.
“We try to promote the academy players, but they are away too, so we lost that opportunity at times, but it’ll be good for Ruby.
“She’s maybe a week or so ahead of Alanna but both players in this next period when we do come back are getting closer to seeing them back on the pitch.”
With regards to Losada, the boss admitted that this weekend’s clash would come too soon for her to return to the fold.
The Spanish midfielder was left out of the City squad ahead of our 2-1 triumph over Liverpool last week due to a knee injury, with Taylor unsure on its severity thus far.
“Unfortunately it was an injury sustained in the build-up to Liverpool,” he said of Losada’s absence.
“It’s an issue she’s had previously with her medial collateral ligament. To be fair she felt quite good in how it felt.
“We knew Sunday against Liverpool would be too soon so we just need to find out the extent of that.
“She’s a big loss especially with her experience and capabilities in controlling play. Hopefully it’s not too extensive.”
