Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw says there is no better place for her footballing future than at Manchester City.

The clinical striker has signed a contract extension, extending her current deal by two years and keeping her at the Club until 2026.

Since switching from Bordeaux to the Academy Stadium in 2015, the Jamaican has impressively scored 50 goals in 59 appearances in all competitions, while lifting one major honour in sky blue.

The 2022/23 season has sourced 60% of those strikes, with Bunny phenomenally netting 30 goals across 31 outings this term.

Still at just 26 years old, there’s certainly no limit to what she can achieve both domestically and internationally.

And Bunny says the environment at City is ideal for her to take her career to the next level.

“I’m delighted to continue my journey with this amazing group,” she declared.

“Everyone made me feel [welcome] from the first day I came here. I enjoy the way we play and I think I’m at a stage now where I understand the way we play and I can only get better and grow.

“I think here at City is the perfect place for me.

“I put all my effort and time on the pitch and obviously for the position I play and the quality I have around me I know I’m going to be in positions to score goals.

“At the moment I’m scoring and I’m happy.”

The 2022/23 campaign has been historic for Bunny as her immense goalscoring exploits saw her break the record for the most goals in a single season by a women’s player at City.

This spectacular achievement no doubt contributed to her winning the 2022 Concacaf Women’s Player of the Year, before claiming our Player of the Year gong for the season.

Although individual awards are a source of monumental pride, Bunny is aiming to help Gareth Taylor’s side add to our sparkling trophy cabinet across the next three years.

She added: “I think [my aims are] pretty straightforward for me, [to win] trophies and get back to winning ways because that was one of the reasons I signed in the first place.

“I think this club has a lot of history and I think if we could just add getting back to winning games and by winning games it builds momentum and confidence.

“And I think we can arrive at the end of each season achieving what we set out to achieve.”
