One of English football’s brightest young talents, the 21-year-old has committed her future to City, with her current contract now set to run until the conclusion of the 2023/24 season.
“I’m delighted to have signed a contract extension here at City,” she told mancity.com after putting pen to paper on her new deal.
“It’s a club where we’re constantly competing for trophies and success – I’ve already enjoyed some amazing moments here since joining three-and-a-half years ago, and I know that there is much more to come from this team.
“I’m surrounded by some of the best players and coaching staff in the world, and having them around me will only help to develop me even further over the coming years.”
Currently in her fourth year at the Club having initially made the switch to Manchester in the summer of 2018 from Bristol City, Hemp has developed a sparkling reputation in recent seasons for both club and country.
A three-time PFA Women’s Young Player of the Year in 2017-18, 2019-20 and 2020-21, the Norwich-born winger was also named as Women’s Rising Star at the recent North West Football Awards.
Having made her debut for England’s senior set-up two years ago after impressing in the Lionesses’ youth ranks, Hemp scored her first goals for the national team in November and was also a member of the Team GB women’s football team at the Tokyo Olympic Games.
With City meanwhile, she has scored 28 goals in 81 appearances in all competitions so far, including an effort in the team’s Women’s FA Cup Final success over West Ham United in May 2019.
A virtual ever-present for Gareth Taylor’s side in 2021-22 so far – missing just a single game – our No.15 has gained plaudits galore from pundits and supporters for her industrious and fearless approach to the game.
