GARETH TAYLOR PREVIEW

The boss revealed in his pre-match press conference that Mary Fowler could miss City’s trip to Prenton Park.

The Australia international took a heavy fall in our 4-1 victory over Reading last week having replaced Yui Hasegawa midway through the second half.

She’ll be assessed in Friday afternoon’s training session ahead of Sunday’s journey to Prenton Park.

The boss also provided an update on the progress of Alanna Kennedy, who is unlikely to return in time for our trip to Liverpool, but should be back in the mix for our final two matches of the season.

PREVIOUS MEETING

We last faced the Merseysiders in the Continental Cup group stages in December – recording a 2-0 win at Prenton Park.

After a closely fought first half, we climbed to Group B’s summit thanks to goals from Filippa Angeldahl and Mary Fowler.

It was also a night to remember as Lauren Hemp made her return from injury after missing the three games previous to the victory over Liverpool.

      LAST TIME OUT

City came from behind to beat Reading 4-1 in our previous WSL assignment.

Sanne Troelsgaard opened the scoring early on, but we levelled through Chloe Kelly inside 15 minutes, before Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw headed us in front ahead of the half-time whistle.

Hemp then struck early in the second half to extend our advantage before Steph Houghton’s exquisite free-kick added the gloss to an impressive performance from Taylor’s side.
